Jesus The Great Light

"The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine." (Isaiah 9:2)
Is the light of Christ shining from within you this Christmas holiday season? Are those walking in darkness seeing the light of our Savior burning bright within your heart?
The Christmas season is always a great time to share the love of Christ with others who don't know Him by feeding and clothing the homeless, giving toys to children who wouldn't otherwise have them, and sharing the gospel.
Christmas is also a wonderful time to reflect not only on the birth of Jesus, but on who Jesus is, what He has done, and what He is doing in our lives right now. He's the Wonderful Counselor, Might God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. He's loving us, blessing us, working within us, and working everything together for our good as we love Him. He's shining His light upon us to lead, guide, and direct our way. He's a lamp unto our feet and a light for our path. Jesus said "Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12).
So as we look at the lights on our Christmas trees, and the lights wrapped around our bushes and shrubs in front of our homes, let us be reminded that Jesus is the light who came into the world to save us from our sins, and celebrate His birth now and into the new year. I hope you all had a wonderful, blessed Christmas in the Lord. Merry Christmas!

  2. Judy, dank je wel. This Christmas, I remember the last Christmas ( 2010)the last month that my son lived at home. I have bad memories. (He now lives in a closed institution) I'm so busy with that I do not think much about people who have a difficult/hard life. I feel ashamed after reading your blog.

Here in the Netherlands we have two Christmas days. Therefore, I wish for you today: a Merry Christmas

  3. I feel that some people are more open to the gospel at the Christmas season. I want my life to be a light to them. I've shrived to be more calm and aware during a busy month. Jesus came to be a light!

    Blessings on your week,
    Pamela
